Government Announces Major Grant Boost for Renault and Alpine EVs

The UK government has announced that the Renault 4, Renault 5*, and Alpine A290 will now qualify for the full £3,750 Electric Car Grant (ECG), a significant uplift from the previous £1,500.

This decision follows confirmation that the majority of each model is manufactured in France, meeting the required European production criteria under the updated scheme.

This announcement positions Renault and Alpine’s latest electric models among the most competitively priced EVs in the UK market. With an additional £2,250 of government support, these models now enter the market with enhanced accessibility for UK drivers considering the switch to electric.

As the official home charging partner for Renault and Alpine, Andersen EV welcomes this announcement and stands ready to support new Renault and Alpine customers.

Andersen’s premium home charging solutions are fully aligned with Renault and Alpine’s commitment to engineering, quality, and sustainability. Through this partnership, customers benefit from:

  • Premium UK-built charge points designed to complement all homes.
  • Market-leading 7-year warranty and dedicated aftercare support.
  • Compatibility with the new Renault and Alpine EV range.

David Martell, Chief Executive of Andersen EV, said, “Andersen EV is delighted to support Renault, Alpine and the wider Mobilize Power Solutions network at this pivotal moment.
